Ryanne Duffie practices in the entertainment law division of Frascogna Courtney, PLLC working with musicians, writers, filmmakers, and broadcasters in the areas of copyright, trademark and media law. Ms. Duffie hails from Southeast Alabama and was first exposed to the entertainment industry at the young age of 13 when she started working at a 100,000 watt radio station on the weekends. She continued to work in radio for over 10 years working in all areas including concert planning and promotion, advertisement, public relations and programming of her Contemporary Christian radio show. Prior to going to law school, Ms. Duffie worked with many film productions across the Southeast. She produced music videos, historical documentaries, a weekly television program, and many specialized programming including various material for Food Network, Discovery Channel and American Idol. She attended Birmingham-Southern College where she was an Alabama Broadcasters' Association scholarship recipient, marketing scholarship recipient, and she spearheaded the implementation and planning of most concerts held on campus. She was active in the Entertainment and Sports Law Society serving as Vice-President of the Entertainment division for two years while attending Mississippi College School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Duffie continued working with her love of music and film by serving as the Director of Volunteers for the Crossroads Film Festival and helping independent record label Seasong Recording with master recording sessions of their country music album Never Forget, which featured new music from country greats such as George Jones, Aaron Tippin and Tanya Tucker. She was selected by her law school professors as the Most Valuable Entertainment Person of the Year, and received the American Jurisprudence Award for the class focusing on the law surrounding Trademarks and Unfair Competition. Ms. Duffie currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Crossroads Film Society. She graduated cum laude from Mississippi College School of Law, and is licensed to practice in Mississippi.
